The New Fashion Initiative (TNFI) teamed up with Eileen Fisher for their first Academic Consortium/Workshop at Eileen Fisher in Irvington, NY.  The event brought together leading regional business, labor, and design school academics came together with successful sustainability entrepreneurs to share their work and discuss ways to better empower and prepare new leaders for the dynamic challenges of climate change, living wages, circularity, and overall accountability in fashion . The schools included NYU, Brown, Parsons, and Bard. The companies that discussed their stories were Renew by Eileen Fisher (Cynthia Powers and Carmen Gama), Fabscrap (Jessica Schreiber) and Studio One Eighty Nine (Abrima Erwiah). Gama and Powers took the group on a tour of the Eileen Fisher Renew take-back program and Resewn factory. This is the first of a series of Academic Consortiums that TNFI and Eileen Fisher are planning.
